Yes. Separate dorm assignment. If your fall dorm isn’t occupied for summer, you can move your gear in…if it’s occupied, the University will store it for you until falls.
Applied Art 10/12 will SRAR completed and haven’t heard anything and no portal changes so called today just to confirm EA with student number. At first they said some majors in the college of art and architecture are not eligible for EA due to portfolio requirements but the Art major did not require a portfolio review so they said ok you will hear a decision by 12/24.
Update: Art BFA only available at UP (start - finish) so that is why we did not have to put down a second choice (been wondering that so checked the website again) so it’s either in, deferred or out… (no 2+2 option)
My son got in chemical engineering, EA. He was TO, but a 3.84 gpa. A number of APs, plus honors. He also attends a high ranked private school OOS. Legacy parent. Main activities are National ice hockey level and lacrosse. Not recruited for sports. Good luck!
My daughter got Scranton for nursing. Very disappointed and will choose another school. Best of luck to everyone!
My son is waiting for Engineering…
Mine is still waiting for Smeal
Congratulations!
Hopefully we hear soon.
Good luck to all those still waiting!
I got accepted for summer engineering and I enrolled last night… The dates are June 23 - August 10.
The 23rd is a Sunday, is that the move in date? And I guess the 10th is the move out date?
Still waiting here. No changes to portal. Daughter’s best friend got summer start and heard back today.
Crickets! Yes I heard summer starts are the ones coming so I’m gathering info just in case.
Here’s to holiday miracles wishing everyone luck that’s still waiting!
For anyone who is wondering about summer session and LEAP, my son got into Smeal for fall 2023 start, but he ended up choosing to do LEAP to get a head start on knowing the campus and learning the ropes. It was $8000 extra (in state). He got to chose 2 classes to take and was in a cohort with the same 24 students in both classes. Classes are every M-F for 6 weeks. There was a week in between the end of summer session and the start of fall. He was assigned to a dorm, and he did not have the same dorm for Fall. We were able to move the large things and leave them on the bed in the new dorm, so did not have to bring everything home.
Still waiting on my daughter’s decision, but her best friend just found out today that she got summer start. If my daughter does get accepted, she may choose to do LEAP even if she gets in for fall (fingers crossed - so much stress going on here!).
Awesome info!
What major was her friend?
Thanks for the info. Very helpful.
Meaning summer starts are coming first and then fall starts will follow after? If so, that gives me some hope that not seeing any portal changes yet could be a good thing.
Not totally sure, but something the medical/science realm.
i got in for summer, definitely nervous about
giving up summer but excited. can i switch my
major to nursing?
