Yes- I understood the intent that we should not be constantly checking Lion Path to find a decision. The person I responded to had a decision in the portal and also then a Lion Path account that comes with the decision. Their letter was in there. And then days later the portal was changed and when they asked they were told “don’t use Lion Path”. That’s the part that confused me.
It’s weird because it asks if you want to submit the common app essay or the penn state essay when you are submitting. So confusing.
We are out of state in Va, she has applied to a lot of schools but have not heard from any. She basic applied to the rest because I made her LOL she’s done several swim camps at psu thru the years and it has just been her dream
IUP (Indiana University of Pennsylvania, about 6500 students) should be a safety and probably still has nursing program openings. You can private message me if you want any more suggestions of direct entry programs, but most of them are at smaller schools. Since nursing programs south of the Mason-Dixon line are usually non-direct entry, your daughter will most likely need to start in pre-nursing if she is admitted to any of them.

I second this! My family and I were touring the Palace of Versailles in France this past Summer when someone looked at my alumni who was wearing PSU attire and yelled “WE ARE” across the gardens. We laughed and answered back! “PENN STATE”! Congratulations everyone! Good Luck to all those waiting.

If my kid was accepted, would admissions be mailing out the letters this week? Or not, if they are on break?
My kid doesn’t want to check their portal until after Christmas. We checked last night and the TO button was gone, but they don’t want their Christmas ruined if the outcome isn’t what they’d hoped. Just wanted to know if we’d get a letter before they decided to check their portal. I think they’ll check it next week, probably before the letter (if applicable) would have a chance to arrive…but you never know, right?
My guess is that the decision is in the portal for your child today if the TO button was gone last night. If it’s not a deferral, then that means that the envelope was likely mailed today. Depending on where you live, it could get to you tomorrow, but that would be pretty quick. My guess is that it will come after Christmas. Your daughter has a lot of restraint (and you do too!). I don’t think I’d let mine wait. It would make me crazy knowing it’s there. Best of luck to whenever she checks!

We did the same thing last year with our son. He ended up getting admitted with the regular decision students but it’s frustrating. In our case we didn’t realize the SRAR was required for Penn State. He was our first to go to college so with the second one we weee a little more in touch. Good luck to him with the regular decision.

I think an admission counselor DID Say not to use Lion Path for any admission related decisions but to stick to portal.

S24 just freed up a spot in EMS UPark as he committed to Pitt this morning! This is our #3 Pitt student and being local, this mama is thrilled!

It’s used more for present students for sure , but at this rate if Mommas and students are anxious to see if they got in as a big Christmas present, I say go for it ! 
@leeny425 , Apply to Hofstra university direct Nursing program. They do have very good nursing program and give very good scholarships for the students got into their direct admit programs. They have recently built a great campus too for nursing. Their due dates are little late so please check their website.
