Same here. Deferred to Waitlist with same message. I wish they had done other way round instead of till May 15th. Give the choice of alternate campus and also waitlist for UP. Would have been easier for them too.
Originally deferred, now in. Here was the order:
Portal message switched back to āunder review.ā
Two days later, portal message says Congrats you are in.
Two days later, emails to parents about SSN and FAFSA. (This past Sunday)
Next day (Monday of this week), big envelope in mail with stickers, etc.

Posted details above - I was just responding to the questions about timing.
Major was film production, which is a capacity-limited major.
My guess is, at this point they are pretty much full at UP with all the admits/DUS/deferred etc ā¦ so anyone submitting application later than EA (like me), they are likely not even evaluating and shunting to WL.
Nah, I think it depends on your major also. My DS missed the EA with a late SSAR, as he didnāt realize PSU has a hard deadline unlike other schools who just require the application in by the deadline but then give an extra 7-14 days for other materials. So he missed EA, bumped to RD, and just found out on 1/19 that he got into UP for CS.

hi! did the portal switch back to under review before the wait list message or it switched straight from deferral to wait list?
We are still waiting here. My dtr applied EA OOS on time but SSAR missed the deadline. We havenāt heard a thing. We have the same message we have had from the very beginning saying āUnder Reviewā.

Hi all just wanted to give an update: They put me on the waiting list for penn state UP. That is fine but does this mean I am completely unconsidered for the honors college? I just think this is insane seeing as Penn State was supposed to be one of my safeties and I really did well in my honors college application.
Admissions has been insane everywhere this year. Our valedictorian was waitlisted at his safeties. Donāt take any of it as a reflection on your accomplishments because it definitely is not. As for honors Iām not sure. Maybe one of the senior members here can say if they saw waitlisted or deferred kids still get into the honors college.

Schreyerās decision is totally separate.
That being said, they only admit 300 students out of 8,000 freshmen (therefore there are 20-40 students per college including DUS.) So your essays have to be really good so the professors reading them think āI want this kids in my seminar next year!ā While they look at your rigor+soph/jr grades and consider them among the best theyāve seen for the college you applied to. Being waitlisted isnāt a promising sign on that account.
What major had you applied for and what did you ask to be reconsidered for? Did you check summer start ?

@ALmomma our TO disappeared and son has access to lionpath. But no decision yet. Iām guessing itās coming but done know if UP or branch. Iām sure your son the same.

blah. 2+2 harrisburg. it is now on lionpath. but all is well- his first choice has been leaning heavily towards purdue and he was accepted there! good luck to your son!

OOS/ DUS deferred ; T/O button returned and is still presentā¦ status remains:
āYour application is currently under review. We have received everything required to complete your application. Once a decision is made, it will be posted here.ā
At this point I figure we have (3) outcomes:
- DUS to UP with requested summer start
- 2+2 Altoona DUS fall
- Opt in for UP DUS Waitlist ā¦ ?2 weeks to decide or request ALT campus decision right away.

@Psulionguy @ALmomma sorry to hear that. The good news is that it makes the decision easier! Since it sounds like they both had a different top choice than Penn State, not the end of the world. (Other than a bruised ego).
I donāt know for definite, but Iām guessing the waitlist is because yield has been higher the last few years which causes more freshmen to be in supplemental housing. This may be their way of having options?
There is also massive dorm renovation going on- depending on those completion dates, that could be another few hundred kids/dorm.

I was reconsidered after taking off premed and placed on the waitlist. I have many other safeties Iāve gotten into so I am not too stressed I just think my honors college application did really well so I wanted to see if I would still be looked at for it.
