my stats for reference (i want to major in marketing and iām in state):
4.34 gpa (my school doesnāt do unweighted)
1370 sat (720 english 650 math)
17 honors classes
3 Aps ( Microeconomics, Pysch, Environmental science) All A-
2 DE for pre law class (A-) and marketing class (A+)
NHS
Activity wise i moved after freshman year so my ECs are a little choppy
Freshman year i did
Model UN
Forensic science club
And two Christian community service clubs revolving around those in our church
And a service and leadership club
Jv cross country
Jv track and field (Co captain)
dance team
Sophomore-Senior year
Varsity track
Speech and debate (went to states)
A club for breast cancer awareness
A club dedicated to raising money and collecting donations for orphans
Student life officer junior year
I had two part time jobs since sophomore year consistently
90+ community service hours ovwr

What score did you get on the Micro AP exam?
If you donāt get into Smeal (you have rigor but they look at math), ask IMMEDIATELY for reconsideration (ie., new review) for DUS/Summer. Youāll get in that way for sure.
Note that Marketing jobs will require you to have a solid background in statistics or data analysis-no need for a minor, you could make an ad-hoc cluster or concentration with your adviserās advice.
I have not taken AP math as i donāt think iād do too well. Micro i got a three but i studied so much so i donāt know how i did that.
I also want to go into law in the future not marketing i just wanted to major in it.
Do you think iād have to call to be reconsidered for DUS?
Only if you donāt get into Smeal.
If youāre not certain Smeal is the best choice, you can pivot to anything with DUS so if you donāt get into Smeal it may be a blessing in disguise to ask fo DUS.
Note that Smeal will require the college equivalent of AP Math but super sped up and intense. You want to review Math before you take the math test.

Iāll look into Communications!! It was my second choice major for the other schools i applied to! I already got into pitt for business analytics and Binghamton for marketing!

Iād say 50-50.
All colleges have placement tests in a couple subjects and always math.

Same though someone before Thanksgiving posted that they were told not to expect anything the week after the holiday. So maybe starting today there will be more drops of updates. I really wish they would just do it all on the same day.

I think they are overwhelmed with applications this year. It sounds like itās one of those crazy years. Iām hearing this for a lot of the colleges unfortunately.

My D24 got her decision on weds 11/29. But, she applied to Education which I think has fewer applicants. Most of her friends (with better stats, but different majors) have not heard yet. When my older daughter applied (D21), there were some early acceptances, but mostly there were huge drops of decisions in the week leading up to 12/24/20. I think technically most were received by 12/23/20.

I hear you. I did buy a sweatshirt back in 2020 hoping to gift it to her on Christmas. She ended up getting accepted to Altoona for nursing instead of UP, so she chose not to go to Penn State. I ended up holding onto it and giving it to her the next fall when she was going to visit her best friend to go to the white out game with her.

For my D21 there were 3 people that she knew of from her HS that applied to nursing. They all received their decisions on 12/23/20. 2 for UP and 1 for Altoona which was my daughter. You might get some better insight by looking at the decision threads from the 22 and 23 HS grad years and search nursing. They may have gotten their decisions earlier than when my daughter heard.
