Penn State Early Action for Fall 2025 Admissions

I am curious if anyone has heard from the School of Liberal Artis, Econ Major?

I have seen a few 2+2 and summer - but not sure if they applied for that or if they applied for UP Fall and were given 2+2/summer. I also don’t think people on social media are announcing if their child didn’t get into UP so I think there may be others. (For example, I have seen people just say their child or people they know have ā€œheardā€ from PSU but didn’t specify if they actually got in) If you look on last years EA thread there seemed to be a lot of 2+2 in mid December.

I actually don’t think they sent out any acceptances last Monday either. Or if there were any no one posted about them. There was a huge release on Tuesday though - or at least it seemed that way based on posts. Fingers crossed for you for tonight!

I am an anxious mom. My daughter’s stats are as follows uw GPA 4.0 w GPA 4.38 has mainly honors or AP classes. Wants to get into psychology. She is taking AP psychology now and has taken AP biology, AP chemistry, pre-calculus and trig. Does anyone have any insight on her chances of getting into UP? This waiting game is torture

There is some ā€œprestigeā€ for direct admit to Smeal, but that’s really nonsense. Yes, you can switch your app by emailing admissions.

They don’t reject. Offer 2/2.

My daughter received her package in the mail 2 days after she got her acceptance email. It wasn’t personalized. Basically a Penn State admitted brochure with a QR code taking her to the portal to log in.

sharing b/c I was anxious too! My daughter got in UP fall start last week. OOS and TO. Weighted 4.0, unweighted 3.8. Five honors, 1 AP, 3 DE (including senior year). Great EC, but not sure PSU cares! Got in for HHD. Your daughter sounds strong - they just take their sweet time! Good luck!

My daughter applied for Communication Disorders and Sciences. UW GPA 3.67, W GPA 3.95, 11 honors and 4 AP classes. Great ECs (3 varsity sports, VP student council, Elem school internship). Hoping for UP fall. Has a scheduled trip to Europe that impacts summer enrollment. Not sure if her stats look good for fall start in her intended major. Looking to make a plan if we need to request reconsideration. Would Education (Elem or Special Ed) or DUS be a better option to consider?

My daughter initially applied to Smeal on 10/18, but after reading through these posts, she sent an email and requested to be switched to DUS on 11/11. On 11/13, she was accepted to UP for the fall. I think she had a decent shot at Smeal, but it was such a relief for her to get that acceptance. OOS, 4.52 W, 3.96 UW, 12 AP/DE classes, 1390 SAT, good ECs.

Congratulations to your daughter! Great strategy and one I wish we would have leveraged. Our wait continues :blue_heart::white_heart::blue_heart:

Just in case, look at the majors in College of Agriculture then - lots of majors that work for med school and have practical applications it you don’t. Don’t forget to try and get a Spanish minor, especially the Spanish for health professions class.

I’d say, very good chances (her academic profile matches her proposed major very well, with excellent grades.)

It’s a good match but just in case,
Special Ed, considering her interests and profile as shared here, could be a good major for reconsideration.

My Daughters TO button is gone and she got into LionPath. Just nothing in communications yet. First time I have seen her nervous lol. And of course I am a wreck :joy:

Update: She got in! Fall UP! TO DUS OOS 4.14 WGPA (no UW but about 3.75 UW) 5AP/5 Honors

Does anyone know of a time frame of when the school of nursing decisions come out? Online it says by January, but I thought all decisions are coming out by the 24th. Correct me if I’m wrongšŸ˜‚

Fingers crossed! It should be there soon.

Nice! What major?

I believe it is by 12/24 unless they changed it. Two years ago my daughter heard for nursing (Altoona) 12/9. I know some people have heard already.

Got it. Hopefully by the 24th! Do you know if people have heard from UP nursing yet?
