My son got his acceptance last night. 3.5 gpa and went TO with major of DUS and selected summer start. He got the 2+2 option.
nopeâŠsigh
What is his weighted gpa and was he test optional?
Does he want another campus or try for another major at UP?
Nope
Considering it takes them a while to go from decision => portal update, I wouldnât be surprised if decisions were done by Thursday-Friday next week, meaning you run a really high risk at this point that you wouldnât get a decision before Christmas. If youâre fine waiting till January to get a decision for the benefit of perhaps having another opportunity at reconsideration, go ahead - but if she would rather know and can manage potential disappointment, then turn around, immediately asking for reconsideration, I donât see a benefit to taking the risk of a change at this point. I agree that itâs worth a call, to ask specifically if switching from x (âthat I donât want to do anymoreâ) to DUS now would still allow for your daughterâs decision to be released before Christmas .
Sorry to hear. Fingers crossed for a pivot he would like (wether major or campus).
AND the wait for the disappearance of TO button continues .
My daughterâs TO button disappeared today. Iâm too scared to check on lionpath. Will wait for the email.
what time did it disappear?
Good luck! What major?
TO button still there but lionpath worked.
Acceptance? When were you able to get into Lion Path
Has anyone gotten in with a 3.4-5 unweighted gpa. I applied DUS for summer and iâm very worried about not getting into main. If i donât get in what else would be a good major to get reconsidered for
thank you, nursing
yes, tonight. Followed the info and a link somewhere above in the posts to lionpath.
Does anyone know anything about the Integrated arts major and how competitive it is? My son is seeking a creative major (applied to Industrial design/environmental design at other schools). This seemed to him to be the closest option. If given an alternate campus, Iâm wondering what might be a good major for reconsideration!
UP campus is a reach for my kiddo, but he is going to give it a shot!
3.4ish GPA. Upward trend, currently has all As. Has taken Bio, Physics, Chem. 3 years of Spanish. Currently taking Pre-Cal, AP Studio Art, Honors World Lit, Honors Entrepreneurship and Stem Engineering.
Depends on what you have As in, APs in, highest math level, whether youâve taken bio/chem/physics and got As or Bs, 4/AP in a world language, and what youâre interested in.
assuming i do not get into UP, what would be an easy major for reconsideration? Communications? And is it best to call to ask for reconsideration or email?
What about landscape design? I know itâs less selective than Architecture and is less demanding in terms of âother materials and proof of creativityâ. It isw however, one of the selective majors in the College of Arts&Architecture and beside good academics, some evidence justifying the interest would be a good idea.
AFAIK, Integrative Arts is the least selective major in A&A, but only because the specific requirements vary for the other majors (portfolio, ECs, audition⊠- âevidence of creative workâ) with emphasis on the creative production/achievement, and for this the âbasicâ academic application is enough.
Art Education and Art History are probably easier to get into (though Art History would require another major or minor to help with employability unless he aimed at graduate school.)
As an aside, Integrative Arts Gen Ed courses are super popular and always oversubscribed, which is a pretty good sign the major is interesting.
