Penn State Engineering Summer Bridge

Is anyone familiar with the Engineering Summer Bridge program at Penn State. Not the Millennium Scholars one. But the one through the Multicultural Engineering Program department?

This?

Yes

It’s a solid program and if you were selected for it, it’s a great way to make friends and be ready to hit the ground running in the Fall, really important for Engineering.
If you were selected it means they really want you to come (and succeed) because it’s similar to LEAP but at a fraction of the cost (LEAP is 8-9k), and Financial aid is available for Summer bridge. They could just have admitted you to LEAP and take your money .
Instead of starting in Math 26 you start in 140 right away (saving time and money), when the other freshmen arrive and are finding their way around you already know how Pattee, tutoring (* ), labs.. work, where the best food is, you already have contact on the faculty and friends around you…
(* You also know that, unlike HS, college tutors are for high achieving students as well as struggling students, and may be the difference between a B+ and an A; you know how to book them ahead of time as soon as you get your syllabus, which you know how to read/annotate/transfer to phone calendar with alerts for exams&papers. In other words, you have a huge advantage over the freshmen who arrive in the Fall.)
