Penn State University Park [Business] vs Lehigh University [CS/Business]

My son recently got into Penn State University Park and plans to major in Business(finance or supply chain through Smeal). He does however want to explore majors/minors a bit so applied and was accepted DUS. He also got into Lehigh in the Computer Science/Business integrated program and accepted to the 4 plus 1 in Financial Engineering. I am looking for insight into these programs at Lehigh. I feel like Penn State’s campus is a better fit for him(he loves golf and having a lot to do… many of his friends from high school will be there), but if this program at Lehigh is superior to Penn State’s offering, he would definitely consider. He is not interested in fraternities or greek life and I have heard that Lehigh is heavily greek. His sister went to Penn State and loved it. Any input?

Both are good :), congratulations to your son :confetti_ball:!

At Penn State, he can apply to a Living Learning community to avoid Greek life yet have a ready made community.
PSU Supply Chain is very good and in-demand.
Finance is hard to get into (he will need consistently high grades but if he gets them he can get in.)

At Lehigh, there have been changes wrt Greek life but I’m not sure the effects are as pronounced as what you’d hope.
The big advantage is that he’s guaranteed his majors of interest.

Is there a price difference?

Yes very large price difference. He did not get any money at Lehigh as of yet that we can see unfortunately.

Maybe it’s fortunate.

It’s nice when someone makes the choice for you - and you feel comfortable with PSU.

Do you know if the IST school at Penn State is similar to what Lehigh does with the CSB program? Would this be an alternative?

This major, with the Business Focus, would match

Students can apply the joint minor in supply chain and IST to any major AFAIK

Same thing for Digital analytics

Or Entrepreneurship with various clusters (college focus)
