<p>American is a good school, but Penn State UP is a lot harder to get into. Penn State UP has higher admission standards, is better ranked, and is much more well known nationally.</p>
<p>The median SAT Maths and CR score for American is 1265, for Penn State UP it’s 1195. The acceptance percentages are around the same, with 53% and 51% respectively.</p>
<p>Penn State UP might be harder to get into than American if you’re an out of state student, but, I don’t know if it would be ‘a lot’ harder.</p>
<p>I’m pretty familiar with both. PSU does not give a boost to in state versus out of state for admissions. Like a lot of state colleges they welcome the extra $$ for OOS. </p>
