Few nights ago, I am accepted to Penn State University Park.
I applied there for Liberal Arts school since I really wanted to major in Linguistics, English, and (perhaps) politics. Today, I’m also accepted to Syracuse Univ. (for liberal arts). I’m still waiting to hear from Bryn Mawr but I am almost certain I would get in since my SAT, GPA, and other requirements are satisfactory. My question is: What is the best Liberal Arts school among Penn State Univ Park, Syracuse, and Bryn Mawr???

bryn mawr by far, then syracuse, then penn state on nearly the same level as syracuse. bryn mawr is also a radically different environment from the other two, and i would venture to say it has milder weather as well.

thanks for the reply! what’s the average sat ranges for Bryn Mawr?
I’m also waiting to hear from Wellesley, Brandeis, Boston College and Harvard.
Is Brandeis and Boston College better (generally) than Bryn Mawr? I tried to compared these but US News put Bryn in Liberal Arts School so i couldn’t really compare…
help?

i’m not certain what the bryn mawr sat range but i’d imagine it’s about 1350. it’d be easy to check on college board, though.

in my opinion, bryn mawr is better than all those colleges, except wellesley, which is usually considered the top women’s college in the country. as a barnard student, i’m a HUGE fan of women’s colleges, i have friends at bryn mawr who adore it, there’s lots of tradition and girl power and friendliness and i know it’s an amazing place. obviously it’s personal preferences.

if you mean the “prestige”/us news factor, i’d say bryn mawr is about the same level as brandeis and boston college (i’m not sure why us news says bc is not a LAC?). harvard and wellesley are a little bit above. but in terms of the actual best education/experience factor… i would say wellesley and bryn mawr are the best.

you have a really diverse list of schools… big schools, little schools, women’s colleges, catholic colleges. good luck making a decision!

thanks! your respond was a lot of help to me! I am really anxious to hear from all the colleges I’ve applied. I suppose to hear “likely” letter from Wellesley within a week or two. Even though there’s nothing I can do about getting admissions, I hope I could end up at Bryn Mawr, BC, Brandeis, or Wellesley…
Thanks again!
