I’m an international student (Indian). I’m thinking about applying to PSU- University Park because of it’s affordability and academic reputation. I would be extremely grateful if someone could help me with my queries-
- The cost calculator on their website gives me an estimate of $21,537. I want to know if this is a realistic figure. If not, can someone please tell me how much I would realistically have to spend in a year (With a breakdown of the costs) because I’m financially handicapped and It would help a lot to be well informed about the costs well in advance.

2) As an international student, will I be in any disadvantage If i apply for the spring semester?

3)As an International student, Is there any way I can seek financial assistance of any form from this university?

1.) I suspect that the estimate you are looking at is for one semester only. The estimate I see for one full academic year as a non-PA resident shows up as approximately $40,000 in billable costs. (Please note that freshmen are required to live on-campus for the first year.) Here’s the source of that estimate:

2.) I would not see any disadvantage for an international student to apply for spring vs. fall admission.

3.) In general, with very limited exceptions, all US colleges and universities are very limited in financial assistance to international students. PSU, specifically, is rather notorious for limited financial aid to all students.

I wouldn’t think that admission would be a problem for you based on your statistics.

expect no financial aid from Penn State
