I just found out that a blood cousin of mine has a Wikipedia page of their own, which I think is really cool. And it’s not like they created it, it’s a legit Wikipedia page.

Anyone else got relatives cool like that, by which I mean, does anyone else have relatives who have Wikipedia pages?

I can always make my own Wikipedia page. If I were to commit a SERIOUS murder and I was sentenced to death and executed I could find myself on Wikipedia. It would be legit too.

My cousin has one - in our neighbour country (European). Kind of weird when she doesn’t have a national one. However, it’s not like she’s famous or anything, she just participated in a song contest many years ago.

I don’t know if Wikipedia works the same way everywhere, but here you can’t just make a page about yourself/family/a freind/etc. The person has to be well-known nationwide.

That’s a pretty big accomplishment. I imagine there’s fewer than half a million on Wikipedia, having a Wikipedia article on yourself is a 1 in 14,000-ish accomplishment.

In the case of my cousin, [gender neutral singular pronoun] is an author, not murderer.

Edit, I’m a dumbass. I’m sure there has to be far fewer then half a million living people with Wikipedia articles. Far better than 1:14,000.

Wikipedia prevents an article on me from being created because it claims that it is impossible to avoid sounding biased when describing my greatness. Such tragedy.
