Hi all, I was recently admitted to Pepperdine University as well as Seattle University and I can’t decide which school would be the best fit for me. I am graduating from a Jesuit Catholic school in Alaska and I am very actively involved in sports and extracurriculars. I am either interested in majoring in business or english and participating in intramurals and other student leadership activities. Being from Alaska both schools are pretty far from home. Both schools are also in amazing locations and have equally amazing reputations. What’s pulling me back from Pepperdine (aside from the 60K price tag) is the isolation and small town feel Malibu; I am worried I will need a car to entertain myself if I did choose Pepperdine. I was reading that there is a required weekly convocation and the dry campus and I am feeling very unsure about that as well. I know Catholics and Christians tend to butt heads so I am a little hesitant about going to a Christian college. What’s pulling me back from Seattle U is the fact that I would be conveniently located near my extended family (also a pro), there is no Greek life (which I am interested in), and there are limited activities for students (so I’ve heard). I feel like I would be choosing Seattle U because of its convenience if I did choose Seattle. I want to choose Pepperdine but part of me feels I won’t fit in.
Please help!
