Perfect Safety Net

If you are overly determined to get into princeton, and then reality hits you that while it is good to shoot for the moon sometimes you have to settle for a star, when you think of princeton can you think of any school that make good, and maybe more accessible understudies?

First figure out what you want to major in. Remember that if you’re just being a prestige whore, being at a top university won’t get you places.

P.S. Avoid crappy cliches like the moon and star thing in your college essays. They are terrible and if I cracked up, the admissions committees will definitely crack up.

Also, it depends what state you live in. For me, since I’m from VA, UVA was my safety. But if you’re applying to a place like UVA from out of state, it’s harder to get in. Other states, on the other hand, have far less respectable state schools, and then you might want to look elsewhere for your “understudy.”

lol hotrocks…trust me my actual writing is much more appropriate hahaha…i dont want to stay in state cuz i hate where i live…so idk

Other schools you might be interested in are Dartmouth, Williams, Amherst, UChicago, and Wellesley (if you don’t mind that fact that it’s a women’s school). By no means are these schools real safeties for anyone, but they’re somewhat less selective than Princeton and offer an excellent undergraduate education.

None of them are safeties however … I just want to stress this. I got into Princeton, but was waitlisted at Amherst and Williams. Apply to those schools to give yourself more options, but do have at least one real safety school.

If Princeton is your first choice, apply early decision. Just remember to keep your options open.
