Performing a Scene from a Novel

<p>I use “Hills Like White Elephants” when I teach dialogue writing (fiction). If you need a more contemporary story with characters around the same ages, try “No One’s A Mystery” by Elizabeth Tallent. I found the full text online here:</p>

<p>As a side note, dialogue in prose (fiction and creative nonfiction) is crafted differently from dialogue in scripts. Maybe that is what your teacher is getting at? My daughter, who is a playwright, always lets me know that I have nothing useful to tell her about her play scripts (I am a prose writer.) :D</p>
