Performing Arts for non-majors at UGA

D has been accepted to Furman. In high school, she was heavily involved in Theater, Dance and Show Choir. She is concerned that there will be limited opportunities for a non-major to participate in performances etc… Can anyone tell me what the opportunities are for either non-majors to be involved in performing arts at UGA. Are there any student led groups similiar to “The Pauper Players” at UNC? Any other opportunities?

Thanks,
Confused & Conflicted

Sorry, meant UGA not Furman.

According to the drama depts website their productions are not limited to theater majors:

**University Theatre mainstage production season

Six plays are produced annually on the Department’s mainstage, University Theatre.

Ordinarily, performers for our University Theatre season are drawn from the Graduate Acting Company, undergraduate Theatre and Film Studies majors, and UGA students. Season auditions, held in the Fall and Spring, are open to all current UGA students.**
