perhaps a very creative "fund me" program

I will admit, this is interesting! While FEMLA allows three months off, it is highly unlikely that young people have earned that many paid days off (12 weeks x 40 hrs = 480 hrs! that would take years and years of not using any time off.). This would help offset that and perhaps as a supplement to short term disability which kicks in after the first 20 workdays off, if that benefit is available. What if a couple has everything they need pretty much available to them as hand-me-downs, such a baby furniture, baby clothes, strollers, linens, blankets etc. Why not just give them money? Is this a more polite way of asking for it? And let’s not make this into a discussion about how companies should be giving folks X amount of paid time off like in other countries. That is another discussion.
