I just got permanent eyebrows yesterday. I had an opportunity to get it done for free at a very well respected salon where the woman that has been doing it for 20 years was instructing an apprentice. The instructor did do about 80% of the work. I am a natural blond, and they used the lightest color of brown that they had, but it is SO stark to me! I am fairly happy with the shape, but I just can’t get over how dark they seem to me. Has any of you had any permanent procedure that you might be able to reassure me that they will lighten up? How long will this take, and what should I expect in the coming weeks/months? Thanks!

They are pretty much tattoos right? I have tats and the lighten up pretty quickly after being done, a week or so, and then they fade over time, especially if exposed to the sun. I would give it a week and if they don’t seem right still I would ask the place that did it. Also, part of your misgivings are probably due to the fact that you aren’t used to seeing yourself that way. It is new and will take some time to get used to… in part.

I am interested in hearing what you think of it in a few months. My son lost a great deal of his eyebrow in a recent accident and while the plastic surgeon recommended a hair transplant specialist … I am thinking that the permanent makeup might be a better solution if he wants to do something about this in the future.

My aunt did the tattoo’d eyeliner when she was 70 years old. Her teenage granddaughter saw her, didn’t know she’d had it done, and said, “Grandma, that’s the first time you’ve ever gotten your eyeliner right!”
