Personal Dilemma

Is anyone facing a realization that they are probably going to end up attending a college that they actually aren’t crazy about–whether it be because you got rejected from your top choice, or that this place was originally a top choice, but now you aren’t as crazy about it as you used to be?

OR, possibly, because some significant personal change has taken place in your outlook or ambitions since applying to said college?

[or any other reason]

Oh, and for future reference: I never applied to Columbia. Can we please NOT resurrect that dumb thread I started? This really doesn’t relate.

I used to be afraid of not going to Yale, and the thought killed me. Then, in belligerent retaliation, I began looking at other schools. Soon enough, I came to love a bunch of other schools almost as much as Yale, and now I’m perfectly comfortable. I’d be very happy at Cornell, Chicago, George Washington, and Michigan, to name a few (although I’d go to Yale over any of them any day).

The trick is to either be crazy about a bunch of schools (like me!) or none of your schools (like my friend, who got into most of her schools and still doesn’t care haha).

i got rejected from nyu, rochester, lehigh, and UCB!! my main one
now all i have is penn state…i wasnt hoping for this but oh well i guess i gotta look bright ahead

all the best
