In eighteen years of life, not a day has passed where my parent’s struggles have not motivated me to become better. When my parents were busy trying to build a future for me, I was left with my grandparents for two years. Even through all these struggles that my parents faced each and everyday, they still managed to save money and help others out.
Having parents who own a dispatching business made my life more arduous because I had to balance assisting them, maintaining good grades, and having a job. As much as I dreaded working with my parents at work, it gave me valuable working skills that are necessary in the future. For example, it gave me an opportunity to communicate with customers which eventually led to me having my own dispatching company. Achieving goals in life and doing the best I can in school are one of the key points I strive for on a daily basis.
My family has shaped my dreams to become the first generation college student aiming for a PhD. Their tendency for encouragement made me stronger as a person. The hardships faced by my loved ones inspired me to work hard in order to establish my own organization one day. Despite the obstacles, I still feel confident in myself that I acquire what it takes to become a neurosurgeon. It is my goal to reach my dreams and have a more successful career than my parents and reward them for all they have done for me and others. Knowing all the obstacles my parents have gone through and overcoming all of them, it sets a fire deep inside me that there aren’t any that I will not be able to overcome but will make me have a tendency to strive harder in everything and turn dreams into reality because that is who I am.
