The personal statement section gives no info. They arent really talking about a statement right?
They just mean that they want an essay on one of the topics right?
Because i wrote a 600 word essay about cultural awareness i developed. It is about how intrigued i became by foreign language and culture as a child, and how it has shaped my academic desires and desires for my future (i want to be a mandarin and japanese double major basically because of it.)
Seem like im heading in the right direction?

Yes, you’re headed in the right direction. Did you get the info from the website (http://admit.washington.edu/Apply/Freshman/Documents/WritingSection)? Will you be applying to other schools as well?

If you’re comfortable sticking with this essay, then by all means use it. You may be able to use it for other colleges (and scholarships as well). But if the second question applies to you as well, I might give that a shot as that question seems to come up more often for colleges and scholarships. I wrote a post about writing scholarship essays that you might be able to apply to your college essays. You can check it out here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=375793.

If you’d like someone to look at it, I’d be glad to help you out. Feel free to send me an email.

sure. Its kinda rough right now. Im gonna cut some parts and embellish some.

When i read the section thingie, it seemed like it was asking for 2 essays, so mines kinda different
