Personalities of MIT Sororities

What are the personalities of each of MIT’s five sororities? Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Epsilon Phi, Alpha Phi, Kappa Alpha Theta, Sigma Kappa…which ones are preppier/more artsy/etc

Thanks!

There’s actually a sixth one, Pi Beta Phi, which I think is new.

PBP is new. But don’t worry about the personalities now - that’s what recruitment is for!

As a sorority member myself, I am of course prompted to remind you that there are no defined “personalities”, per se. Each sorority has a variety of members that come from all backgrounds, and the fun of being in one is that you aren’t just hanging out with the same-old, same-old kind of people.

That being said, there are certain (and sometimes incorrect stereotypes) that each of the sororities have. As a member of Panhel, I’m not allowed to propogate and encourage them. Just wait until recruitment, as Piper says, and you’ll know when you find that perfect sorority for you - things just click, I promise.

Alpha Epsilon Phi, as a traditionally Jewish sorority, does recruitment after the other five, so they’re a little more self-selective and small (around 20 members total) while the others have around 120 members.
