Petroleum Engineering in Michigan

Does anyone on here have any experience with going to a Michigan college, Oakland University in my case, for the first year and then transferring to an out of state college that offers petroleum engineering?

Any help is appreciated!

I know a student who started at MSU and then transferred to the University of Oklahoma, which has a strong PE program. But PE is not necessary if you wish to work in the petroleum industry. A degree in Chemical Engineering should also work nicely.

That helps alot knowing that it has been done. Do you know how long he was at MSU for?

And from what I have read is that CE’s typically do more lab oriented work and PE’s work in the field more. Is there any truth to that?
