Phd from NUS vs PhD from Virginia Tech

I am 2011 IIT Kanpur dual degree graduate.</p>

<p>I will be pursing PhD in fall 2014.</p>

<p>However I am in a dilemma right now.</p>

<p>I have for fellow ship offer from NUS and RAship from Virginia Tech.</p>

<p>At both places prof and work is good.</p>

<p>Which univ is good to choose among these two???
Which has more Brand name that will help me to join academics in future??</p>

<p>It would hep if you mentioned the field. That makes a big difference as these two universities are known for different things. Even so, it depends on where you want to pursue a career in academia; VT is probably better known in the US than NUS. However, the most important thing in a Ph.D. is your thesis advisor. If they are equally well-known, then it does not much matter what the nominal “ranking” of the university as a whole might be. </p>
