Is there a Phi Beta Kappa in NYU?

If so… how does the invitation work?

I also heard it’s only for Art & Science students… So are Stern students not invited to the society?

Just wondering…

Just wondering…

You can worry about that after you get accepted.

“Is there a Phi Beta Kappa in NYU?” Yes. NYU chapter is Beta of New York, the second oldest chapter in the state.

“If so… how does the invitation work?” You will find out in your senior year, or possibly (very rarely) as a junior.

“I also heard it’s only for Art & Science students… So are Stern students not invited to the society?” Correct and correct. Other disciplines have their own honor societies, e.g. Tau Beta Pi for Engineers.

then what’s the business version of Phi Betta Kappa?

Beta Gamma Sigma is the Business School Honor Society.

One thing about these societies: They’re societies not frat, right? meaning that even if I am a current member of some kind of fraternity, that won’t affect my chance of getting invited to thsoe honor societies… right?

Right. You are inducted on merit.

How do they know if you’re an eligible senior?
