Phi Theta Kappa eligibility?

<p>I have been enrolled in two schools in my college career, and I did rather badly the first time around at 4 year school (ended up bombing my GPA with a cumulative average of 1.8 there) but I’ve been taking classes at a Community College of 4.0 last semester, and trying to get an average close to that this semester. I am interested in joining Phi Theta Kappa, and I’m wondering if my fouling up in 4 year school will hinder my eligibility.</p>

On average, to be eligible for membership a student must have completed at least 12 hours of associate degree course work with a cumulative 3.5 GPA. Phi Theta Kappa’s Constitution sets minimum standards for membership and gives the local chapter the ability to raise these standards. For this reason, eligibility requirements may vary slightly from chapter to chapter. Therefore, specific questions about membership eligibility should be directed to the local chapter advisor.
