Philosophy/Cognitive Science at Rice

<p>Can any current students tell me about the strength of Rice’s philosophy and cognitive science programs, including how well students fare in graduate school placement? If anyone has any extensive experience regarding this, I would appreciate it if I could PM you. I really like Rice but I’m worried that the fields I’m interested in are weaker compared to its peer schools/other schools I’m applying to.</p>

<p>Also, how easy/hard is it for students outside of S/E to get out of Texas after graduating? I’m also a bit concerned that Rice’s name may not be as well regarded in other areas, particularly on the East Coast.</p>

<p>Rice has historically been known for the sciences, but as an undergraduate especially, its overall undergraduate reputation will take you far. Rice is a well-known school among graduate schools and employers who count.</p>
