What volunteer work/work experience could be considered philosophy-related?

bump…

For what purpose? For application to a major? For working after college with a philosophy major?

Research in philosophy. Though, for an undergrad, these opportunities are hard to come by and often involve just standard office duties with very little input into the research itself. That’s because philosophy is about what each individual thinks and gathering empirical evidence is sometimes not necessary. This is opposed to wet lab work in the hard sciences, where hard data is an integral part of the research.

I meant primarily for the purpose of applications- for philosophy majors. How do you show your interest through volunteer work, involvement, etc…

Are you a college applicant or a grad school applicant? If you are the former, then I really don’t know of any specific work experience that could possibly be philosophy related besides being a research assistant for a philosophy department at a college. If you’re a grad school applicant, then conducting research under a philosophy professor or doing a philosophy thesis would probably help.

I don’t think schools take into account intended college major during admissions, so I’m not sure how much major-specific ECs would help you. That’s because so many students change their majors once they enter college (myself included) that it would almost be meaningless.
