Phone/Computer specs tech anyone?

Okay I’ll be honest, up until now I’ve only used my phone to talk and as an alarm clock and maybe listen to some music.

But when someone talk about the specs of my phone, I stare at them blankly as if I am being questioned in a foreign language and it is very embarrassing as it seems like it is common knowledge.

The same goes with computers, like sometimes they ask me about graphics cards brand and stuff, I go completely blank on them.

Can you guys give me a list of items that almost all young people should know by heart? Like a list of techs that you would ask for phone and computers?

Who asks for phone specs? lol

I don’t any of the specs by heart. I only care about them when I’m buying/upgrading. After that I forget them.

OKay okay, when I buy a phone, what must I know? Are all phone cards universal?

This made me smile.

Basically, know these, at least:

 • Brand (iPhone, HTC, Samsung, Nokia etc)
 • Operating system (Android!!!, iOS, BlackBerry, Symbian etc)
 • Touchscreen or not
 • Is the design sexy or not
 • What kinda cool apps you use
 • Phone’s/SD’s memory
 • Camera’s MP

^For a phone. If you wanna learn more specs about your phone - find out the model and google “[Brand] [Model] specs”.

Ha.

When most people ask for your computer’s specs, they usually want to know about its:

-Processor
-Video Card
-RAM
-Motherboard (sometimes)

Other components that aren’t really asked about are

-it’s Power Supply if you have a desktop (although in my opinion this is the most important component because if this fails then it can take other components with it)
-Hard Drive(s) (unless you’re Mr. Fancy, most hard drives are the standard 7200 rpm SATA drives and have no real impact on computer performance. Just storage.)

If you have a laptop or purchased a pre-built desktop then it’s specs should be on whatever box it came in. If you built your own PC then I seriously hope that you know what its specifications are.

1 ghz snapdragon processor
that’s all i know
who the **** cares about phone specs anyways? phones can’t do anything. phones are useless.

^ I literally do EVERYTHING on my phone…

^Some people have useless phones…I know I do!

I don’t know if my phone has specs or not. I’m not rich enough to pay for a phone with an operating system or anything like that. I have an LG Rumor2 and it’s good enough for me. Definitely a huge step up from the free tracphone I used all through high school and freshman year of college.

Specs are specifications.
All phones have specifications, OS or not.

Go Qualcomm! :)

Operating system…?Does it matter which? What is Android?

RAM is how much storage I have right? The processor is listed on my laptop thing, but how do I know which brand of processors is the best?

What the hell does that even mean? I thought the harddrive was the storage

@ holden888 - RAM is temporary storage. If you’re thinking in terms of “how much storage I have”, you’re most likely referring to your hard drive storage space.

I think Intel is the best brand for processors.

As for your wondering what Hard drive even means… hard drives serve as permanent storage device. As for all that nerd language, 7200 rpm refers to the speed. There are different types of hard drives with different speeds. The faster the speed, the fast the computer can transfer files, data to and from the hard drive

SSD hard drives are properly the best on the market at this present time.
