phone interview

My D ( who is applying for graduate program of education at same time), has a phone interview for a teaching position ( private elementary school)- where she attended herself & worked during her year off running an after school program. ( she has been concurrently running several after school science programs after graduation )

She hasn’t asked for any advice- but since my kids are first gen college- I know she has a quiet telephone voice, but I also know that the teacher she had for three years is still there & is thrilled with the possibility of her working there.
Not sure if she prefers to work in the school ( although I suspect she may)- but I don’t think she has heard from the grad schools yet. ( but I don’t think she is very worried about that)

Anything she should keep in mind, or ask?
I am not sure who the interviewer is, I would recommend she come for an inperson interview but it is in middle of week.

If she’s worked there before, she should make sure that the interviewer knows whom she worked for and what she did. If she has letters or comments from parents she could refer to those. Private schools care a lot about what parents think.

As for the interview proper, remind her to listen to the whole question, then pause to think before she answers. It’s okay to say “hmm, give me a moment to organize my answer to that.”
