I do not understand the information sent to us.

The ceremony will be videotaped on Saturday morning. I received an order form (in the invitation package). On this form I need to fill out a 'customer # which is supposed to be on the photo order form. However, I have no idea what they are talking about. I have not seen any photo order form. What am I supposed to do?

And what about the Diploma Ceremony (College) on Saturday afternoon?

According to the invitation brochure, the video/photography firm will email the graduates about 2 weeks after the ceremony regarding ordering the DVD for the University Commencement ceremony. It indicates that information about each school/division can be had by calling the numbers in the booklet. If I remember correctly from 2007, we did receive something in the mail after graduation regarding seeing proofs and ordering pictures.

We got an envelope (9 x 6 size) postmarked April 12 that included a letter from Susan Art (Dean of Students in the College),a postcard listing the Convocation Schedule of Events,
and a booklet with all the details of the Convocation, including parking, timing and accommodations.

On top of what runnersmom is mentioning our envelope also included a small order form called “Gradimages DVD Order Information” plus a corresponding envelope. Gradimages seems to be based in Florida. The price is clear ($40+tax+$5 for shipping and handling per DVD). The payment section of the Gradimages form is very clear. However, the same cannot be said about the order part. It doesn’t mention whether the DVD will cover both the Convocation ceremony in the morning and the Diploma ceremony in the afternoon. It is also asking for a mysterious Customer # (number mentioned on a photo order form that is not included).

Somehow we missed the Susan Art mailing (could have been us or the USPS rather than them). After seeing this thread, I did confirm that all events are ticketless and that my D just had to let them know how many to expect at lunch on Saturday. Since we don’t need the DVD, I’m counting on our ability to figure things out as we go.

My D did fill me in on one FAQ: “How will I meet up with my student after the ceremonies?” “Have a meeting spot, or use cell phones.” I think we’re ready.

My biggest concern is for the weather. Fingers crossed.

Well, graduating in June may actually have its advantages! May has certainly been a washout pretty much everywhere. We did not get the Gradimages part of the mailing, but i remember getting the option later last time as well. This Commencement will be different than the one we experienced in 2007, but we are so looking forward to it. Hotel reservations are made, car is rented, dinner reservations made. I don’t know about your kids, but my D is trying to make these days last forever. I think they are rushing by more quickly than she would like. Its really hard tobelieve its been almost 4 years since they walked through the gate.

No, nothing about grad images in the earlier mailing and nothing further arrived except another fund raising appeal to the wrong address, again. Address was changed in November. Shall I send a donation to the wrong address?
