Physical Therapist Programs in Virginia

What University in Virginia should I go to if I want to become a Physical Therapist?

@seahorsezebra are you talking about what undergrad college for Pre-PT, or graduate program?

I am talking about both undergrad college and graduate program.

Public or private?

It does not matter. I’m just not sure what university has a good physical therapist program. I guess I should visit universities in Virginia and ask them about their program.

I teach at JMU, and know students in, and alums of the undergraduate Pre-PT program. It is a solid program, has articulation agreements with some grad PT programs, and the students I know have been successful in grad school admissions, and post graduate school job placement.

Shenandoah has a graduate program, and a 3+3 for undergraduates.

VCU, William & Mary, and Radford are also worth looking at. There are probably others as well.

I don’t think it matters for undergrad as long as you get your pre-requisites and make good grades!

Much like med school, pre-physical therapy students can go anywhere and theoretically major in anything. You just have to satisfy the prerequisite requirements. Some universities will have more formal pre-PT programs than others (like JMU’s, mentioned already). But most schools will offer all of the courses you need.
