I want to have 4 years of science.

For the 4th year, I want to take Physics 121 through BYU online instead of taking regular physics or AP physics at my school.

It is somewhat Calculus based, but I think my AP Cal teacher could help me with it. I would have a year to finish it, but I want to finish it by Feb.

Should I take the course as my 4th year of science? I would get honors credit for it through my school, so it would help my GPA.

My schedule, if it includes Physics 121:

AP Lit
AP US Gov
AP Cal AB(and BC)
Band

Fren 2B(Fren 4)
Econ 2(Macro Econ)
Phys 121(Cal based)

What is so wrong with taking physics through your school?

If you don’t have space on your schedule for physics ap through your school, then go ahead and take it through the college. I’d recommend taking ap physics if you can…

Wouldn’t taking AP physics at your school help your GPA as well?

It wouldn’t help my weighted GPa. My schools weighs GPAs. I’m currently my class’ valeductorian.

If a GPA is above 4.0, a 4.0 class actually hurts your GPA. I already have band, which I want to take, which hurts my GPA. I think 1 4.0 class is enough.

Are online college classes weighted more than AP classes at your school?

They have the same weight. Both classes get a 5. Of course, AP classes are year round classes, so they would get the weight of 5 for 2 terms.

A college classes runs about half the time, so a 5 would be assigned for 1 term.

honestly, taking that college course will pretty stressful considering the traveling complications and highly accelerated pace (i have friend taking an organic chem class like that). Besides, physics C is also calculus based and would still be weighed on that 5.0 AP scale

Oh don’t worry about your GPA.

Most likely you’ll overschedule yourself and get a B anyway, which will lower your GPA.

I think I’ll just take an H. Physics online or AP chem somewhere else in my school’s district. Hopefully, my school’s district offers H. Phys. or AP chem at another high school.

I agree that my schedule is already overfilled.

I might give up Macro Econ. I might self-study the AP test for Macro Econ. I already have too much. I’ll try to find a 4th year of science.

I’ll think about giving up Macro Econ, but I’m not sure if I’ll give it up.

Take AP Physics C, it’s calculus based. Ask the AP physics b teacher if he/she can teach u that
