Physics 8b

I got my physics 8b textbook today. The Wolfson one. I got page 3 and I got stuck. I couldnt do vector? How hard is physics 8b anyways? How much calculus do I need? Is it just me or is this class suppose to be like this?

I don’t believe Physics 8B is known as a particularly difficult class. I think 7B is supposed to be kind of difficult, while H7B is supposed to be rather difficult. I don’t believe Physics 8B has any math prerequisites.

What do you mean you “couldn’t do vector”? Could you elaborate? Maybe it’s just a small hurdle that you could get over if you post your problem? Have you ever covered vectors before (you should have covered them in Physics 7A/8A; vectors are also covered in Math 53/54)?

I took Physics 8A did okay. Vectors were never explicitly used in physics 8A. Like we never had to add vectors in actual calculations, do cross product, dot product and etc… We just had to look at a diagram and intuitively add vectors.

I took 8B with Jacobsen, we rarely used vectors. But if you need help, 8A book has a nice introduction on vectors in the beginning.
