Physics C question

For Physics C do you have to do both Mechanics and Elect & Magn or can we just do either or?

I don’t know.

you can do either or

Dude don’t take this tests because they are SO ****ING HARDDDD!!! I got double 2’s on both tests respectively and they totally screwed over my otherwise decent AP test score average, thus BARELY qualifying me for AP Scholar with Distinction as a junior.

they are the easiest ap examinations i have ever taken. i probably used about half the time on each part of the exam.

the lesson? difficulty is relative, so you probably shouldn’t make these kinds of universal statements, evilasiandictator.

Umm, I think the general universal consensus is that the AP Physics C tests are the hardest AP tests out there besides the language ones. I just checked your posts and you apparently made the Physics training camp so congratulations on that iostream!!! However, that just means that you probably spend several hours daily on physics and thus were definitely better prepared to handle the tests than the majority of the American population who took it was. If you didn’t do all that work preparing for the Physics Olympiad and doing general Physics problems on a regular basis, these tests would be difficult for you as well.;)

evilasiandictator, just because the tests were hard for you, and you didn’t do well, doesn’t necessarily mean penguinman won’t do well. We know nothing about the quality of teaching in his school and his basic level of preparation. And yes, even if there is a “universal conensus” that Physics C is the hardest AP, it doesn’t mean that people should instantly shy away from the challenge of taking it.

yes it’s generally agreed that physics is very difficult… keep in mind that more difficult = easier curve. you can get 50% of the test right and still get a 5. i know my friend omitted like 12 questions on the MC of one test (out of 35 questions) and still managed a 5 on the exam. don’t be afraid to take the test

you can do either of them or both of them.
before 2006, you got to do both of them for a fee of $83
now you have to pay separately for each of them
