Physics C

I’m looking into taking my school’s AP Physics C course my senior year. I’m also an IB student but will already be taking IB Biology and have taken IB Chemistry for my science and sixth subject respectively. I’ll be taking BC Calc next year as a junior. Next year is the first year they’ll have this class at my school and the course description says, “Students use calculus in problem solving and in derivations as they study Newtonian mechanics and thermodynamics”, so I’m assuming the class is preparation for both the Physics C exams?

My question is whether the class/exam will be a bit too advanced if I’ve had no prior experience. I’ll have other science and math experience, but no physics. So, opinions? Thanks.

Does it say anything about electricity and magnetism in the course description, because thermodynamics is not on the Physics C test, (although it may be covered in the class). If it doesn’t say anything about Electricity and Magnetism I would assume it is only preparing you for Physics C: mechanics. Mechanics is very easy, it requires minimal calculus. (Is BC your first Calc class?), and If it does cover E&M in the second semester, I’m assuming that your BC class will have covered most of the stuff in Calc BC before you get to really hard E&M stuff like Biot-Savart law. My honors physics class did not cover E&M, but I still did fine on the test, (haven’t gotten my scores back yet, but assume 5s on both) thanks to Barron’s.
