My counselor says that since I took conceptual physics as a freshman, I dont need to take another physics class. Is conceptual physics the same thing as physics? I got a d in it the first semester and then an A the second semester, so should I just go ahead and take another physics class?

What material did the class consist of?

well, my brother took honors physics last year and we did more stuff than he was doing- so pretty much the smae thing i guess

then I guess you dont have to.

i was just wondering if it would hurt me when i am applying to UGA because of the D

If it worries you, you think you’d do better, and you think you wouldn’t mind doing it too much then take the other class as it would show that you’ve learned the material you should have learned before. Granted the A shows this already somewhat, but this is more in case you want to drive the point home.

if you only wanna get into UGA then that’d be no problem.

It really isn’t the same. Real physics is math, but the variables mean something.

You’ll have a leg up on your classmates at the beginning of each section because you understand the concepts, but when it comes to equations and problem solving, it’s all new.

Here, it doesn’t matter what you made the 1st semester. Only the avg of the two. Maybe they’ll consider that? Hmm . . so an A and D average out to a C or B at the highest, right?
