This could be a bit of a superficial question, but are there easily accessible pianos on campus?

Every dorm has a piano. There are also practice rooms with pianos I believe...

Excellent, thanks.

Oh, that means I need to be accepted.

Wow I didn't know that. Now its an even better school in my mind lol.

waiting for April 1st hoping :p

The pianos in the common areas are quite out-of-tune and out-of-shape. I haven't been to the practice rooms but if Stanford doesn't have an undergrad piano performance major, undergrads might not have access to good pianos (which is the problem at Yale).

im sure it isn't that hard to fix them up if they're slightly out of date

Tuning a Piano Yourself--A Simple Tutorial

I wouldn't try tuning a piano by myself...

I've watched our piano tuner do it and it doesn't look easy. He normally takes about 1.5 hours to tune our piano.

i heard that everyone has access to the pianos in practice rooms, though music majors get a key so they can have access 24 hours. does anyone know how good those pianos are though? and definitely not worth trying to learn to tune a piano unless you're reallly serious about it
