Pick your name!

Thre is another thread running with a similar theme (“strange names”). Perhaps we can combine these? Also, I mentioned there that we had a great discussion of funny names last year in this thread http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=202771

I have a friend who named her dau Emma Rose. I really like the sound of that. I have also been drawn to the name “Nell”, but it makes me think of Dudley Doright and Snidely Whiplash (remember the cartoon-- the Canadian Mounted police?). I have some freinds named Ollie and Mollie. Their last name is also close to their first names…makes it hard to say easily.

I have a niece and nephew on my wife’s side of the family name Chris and Heather. Chris maried a girl named Heather and Heather married a guy named Chris. The family has a serious name shortage. My brother-in-law was making fun of a couple named Bill and Lill and asking how could they marry each other with those names until it was pointed out that he and his better half were named Andy and Sandy.

I had an art teacher in college who legally changed his name several times a year. That was way back in the '60’s. There are a lot of names I would like to try out for a while but none I’d really like to be stuck with so if I am going to be stuck I will stick with the one I have.

FWIW, I have known several David Davises and one George George.

Speaking of names, dadofsam - I’m glad your name isn’t sonofsam. :)
