Picked out my top 3, now what?

I either go to…

  1. SUNY Binghamton- “public ivy”, "Ivy League of the SUNY’s, cheap because of in state, I want to transfer into Cornell after a year and probably easiest route is through here
  2. University of Connecticut (UConn)- great sports, closest to home, my favorite campus. My favorite school but not the best that I got into, not that great of a name/reputation
3)Boston University- one of my reach schools, love Boston and all of its sports in the area, not too far from home, train station is right on campus, great reputation, only problem is that I start in January and do General Studies for 2 years. Easy to get into the others colleges(don’t have to apply to switch).

I want to either go to medical or veterinary school after college. Money aside, which would be the best for me. I don’t mind the weather up north, BU and UConns campus are nice, but Binghamton is best way to transfer to go to Cornell.

“I want to either go to medical or veterinary school after college.”

This means that you can’t take money out of the picture. Both of those are expensive, and the only financial aid that is likely for either of them would be loans.

Run the numbers for all three of your current options here: http://www.finaid.org/calculators/awardletteradvanced.phtml And talk the long-range plans for paying for Med/Vet school over with your parents.

If you are truly serious about Vet, two years at a NYS CC then transferring to CALS at Cornell might be the best plan of all.

Since you’d get in-state tuition for Binghamton, use it as your springboard. Even if you get rejected as a transfer to Cornell, you have a great school to fall back on and get your undergrad degree from.
