<p>Does stanford have a prefrence for what academic area the teacher rec's come from. Because I am getting mine from two english teachers because they are the ones that know me the best. Do they want it from two different subject areas, or does that even matter?</p>
<p>I don't know about Stanford specifically, but some colleges explicitly ask that you choose different subjects. Check their instructions carefully, and also the instructions for the other colleges you plan to apply to. As a general rule, it is better to choose 2 different subjects, even if the college doesn't mandate it.</p>
