When you take the GRE and they take your picture, what’s it used for out of curiosity? Is it just used to make sure you are the same person returning to the testing center after breaks or is it kept on file? The GRE website says upon request it could be sent to a university but another part says it’ll be sent with your score report and essays. Anyone know ?
bump
Yes, the photo is kept on file and can be accessed by the schools receiving your score reports.
Do they send it with the score report or only upon request ?
All I know is that it’s available with the score report. I’m not sure when or why it might be viewed by admissions committees.
This ensures that if admitted the student who shows up on campus is in fact the student who took the test, This is due to past fraud situations with students hiring others to take the test.
You only have to worry about the picture if you are trying to commit fraud.
My friend apparently hired someone to take his GRE for him so I was curious in how he got away with it. He told me no one looks at the pic and all you have to do is hire someone who’s the same race and gender as you, He’s not BSing me either, he showed me the guy who took the exam for him by showing me the fake ID he used.
Was he admitted? Dis he attend the university?
Yes and yes. I don’t think they send the pic because if you look at the sample university score report on the GRE website there’s no pic
any other info ?
