Pig, in Pearls before Swine

For the most part, I really love the character of Pig in the comic strip Pearls before Swine. In many of the comic strips, he seems to me to correspond to “der reine Tor” or the “pure innocent,” as in the Parsifal tale. One of my favorites is the strip in which Pig brags about having driven to a fast food restaurant, having paid, and then having driven off without collecting his food. I have actually done that. Twice! I had something else on my mind between the window where you pay and the window where you collect the food.

There are a few strips where Pig is sexist, and of course, I do not care for those at all. I am not really sure that they are in Pig’s character–ahem–Stephan Pastis. But I like the puns, even the ones Rat hates.

Big Pearls fan here too. We got into when we were trying to find out what our then 8-year old son found so funny everyday.

I’m not sure what it says about me, but I can usually spot them a mile away. "bingo dingo ringo lingo: indeed.

@skieurope I think it says you’re as juvenile as the rest of us (and Pastis too).

I’m a big fan as is my younger daughter, hence my screen name.
There are many days when I’m rat, some when I’m goat, and some when I’m pig.
