Pilot trying to Transfer to UT Austin question/problem

So I am a freshman at a small school in Oklahoma called Southeastern Oklahoma State University. I am here to do their pilot program to learn how to be a pilot. It’s cool but I want to also peruse something else than a pilot. I’m from the Dllas area and have always wanted to go to UTA. I feel like If I could transfer, I would transfer to COLA and do Econ. UT has a flying club, so I can still continue my flight training at a discounted rate through the school just to have options for my future ya know. No harm with that. HOWEVER, of the 16 hours/semester I am taking, 7 are aviation courses, which means only 9hrs are just regular, “transferable courses.” i would only have 18hs out of 30 at the end of the year. you have to have 30 hours to transfer to UTA that they accept and I doubt they would accept the pilot courses. They DO have a form to send to them to elevaluate controversial credits. I can’t just rely on that but now that I’ve done the math, there maybe no way I’ll be able to transfer for sophomore year there. What’s y’alls opinion?

Check with UT and see if you can apply as a freshman. It wouldn’t make your chances any better but it’s a possibility. Lots of freshman enter with college hours through dual credit, ap classes, or summer classes. Don’t just visit their website, get in contact with a person from the admissions office that can answer your questions.
