Now that I have your attention…
Hello, I’m fairly new to this website.

Freshman year I played jv soccer, quit because they drink and do drugs and stuff (one senior got caught my freshman year but most people did stuff)

Sophomore year I did marching band and drumline, but same story; three people got kicked off, two for being arrested at a party with drugs and one for drinking alcohol during rehearsal and band class.

Junior year I started speech team, my event is discussion, which involves reasoning and arguing civilly about various topics. I love it, its a great experience, I wish I had started sooner. I do it this year too, and am currently ranked first at my school (though to be honest, that changes).

IB Candidate
I have done model un all four years.
I have been a counselor at a camp for two years and am doing it later this year, a great experience where we train once a week for a couple months and then spend three days independently teaching jr high kids around camp, during the school year and through the school.
I got an 800 on the sat 2 subject test for literature and a 770 for us history. I’ve received 5s in world history, us history, micro economics, human geography, and ab calc.

Since jr. year I have had a job at an attorney’s office dealing with immigration law, where I use my Spanish to help deal with the clients as well as translate official documents, and I occasionally help with management of the cases and strategies (honestly, only occasionally, and nothing to do with a court).

So what I want most in a school is an exciting atmosphere, I like the city but not required. I want to feel like important things are happening, and I want to find people who will stimulate me. Also, I know it’s somewhat unrealistic, but I get along really well with academic types (don’t really like political or business people, at least the ones I’ve met) and I want to start a company, potentially including said academics. I really just don’t want to go to a school where I will be learning what is required for a diploma, that sounds extremely tedious and like a waste of money. So, if anyone has any suggestions for different schools as well as an idea of where I stand with these, that would be much appreciated.
