Pitt now guaranteeing internships, largest school ever to do so

See the [newspaper story “Pitt’s new program offers internships, guaranteed”](/ccpa/) as well as the [press release](Pitt to Guarantee Every Undergraduate the Opportunity of an Internship | University of Pittsburgh News).

Pitt is becoming the place for internships. Even prior to instituting this program, Pitt [ranked #4 in the US out of national universities for the number of students graduating with internship experience according to US News.](=http://www.usnews.com/education/best-colleges/the-short-list-college/articles/2011/09/27/10-national-universities-producing-the-most-interns)

Princeton Review also has Pitt’s career services ranked #19 in the nation.

Too late for my daughter. Great for Pitt.

Pitt is all sorts of awesome about getting students relevant work experience. I know in SSOE they were sending out emails all the time about job openings or co-op/internship opportunities almost begging people to apply. Glad to see it’s going to be a campus-wide type of thing now!

I know my son is excited about it and plans to go through the program. He wants an internship next summer (between soph and junior years) so this works out quite well in our case.

This is very exciting. I just told my daughter, a sophomore at Pitt, about this and she is really excited. Does anyone know when the program starts or how you sign up for it?

Actually I really wonder how Pitt (or any school) is able to guarantee this?

Students can visit the University’s Office of Career Development and Placement Assistance (CDPA) and they can register them for the IPP.
