“If at the end of your four years at Pitzer we were to recognize you by citing your contributions to the Pitzer community, what do you think we might say about how you made a difference here? (Maximum 250 words)”

How do I go about this essay? I would appreciate any tips so I can get started on it. Thanks in advance!

This is your chance to say something personal. At the end of your college experience, what would they say about you? Try a mixture of your goals and humorous or personal anecdotes. Are you a Poly Sci major? If so, perhaps you could make mention of an internship in Washington DC where you made Pitzer proud (give specifics). Do you cook some incredible dish . . . your peers may now know you for that. Just mix it up so that it’s an interesting piece.

Feel free to PM me your attempt at this one. It would be interesting to see what you work out.

You could use any approach as long as the voice remains consistent throughout the essay. It could be like a “script” of what Pitzer is announcing (recognizing your contributions), or it could be in your own voice (as if you were relating the recognition to your family). I’d avoid a 3rd person vice as it is too formal and impersonal.
