Are there any places on campus where I can get my philosophy paper revised by a grad student (or someone experienced) for free? Obviously, I mean something legitimate, not just someone who is going to write the paper for me. (I’m not an AAP student so can’t get that type of tutoring).

Thanks

The best people to get philosophy paper’s revised are generally lay people who know nothing about philosophy. (e.g. friends, parents, etc.) the reason why these people are the best is because they’ll be able to tell you what parts of your paper don’t make sense, what parts they didn’t find convincing, etc. Everyone in the field, including professionals philosophers, do this (albeit by other professional philosophers.)

You can also generally find someone in class to trade papers with too, in a “i’ll read your paper, you’ll read mine” situation.

You don’t need grad students for this. The only other people you should be consulting are your TAs/professors, and this is only to make sure that you’re getting the concepts right.

sincerely yours, a philosophy major.
