Placement tests/CTOPS

So, I'm aware that we are going to register for classes during CTOPS but I'm just confused as to how we're going to do that when most of us aren't going to know our AP scores/Math scores..etc.

As of now, I'm going to go to CTOPS in early June and I'm also going to take the SAT Math II subject test in early june. I'm also retaking the SAT in early may and crossing my fingers that I can get a high enough score to be exempt from English 101 and 102...(I hope that doesn't turn out to be a terrible idea..)

But anyways. Because we won't know our scores and therefore, we won't know what we're going to be exempt from then how do we register for our classes?

Or will this not be a real huge problem..?

I think that your advisors look at your schedule again in august after all the scores are in and help you make necessary changes.

And we can probably change them online..??

Don't worry about it too much. Drop-Add is where it's at, anyway.

Does anyone know what score you have to get on SAT II French to avoid taking the placement exam during CTOPS? I'm wondering if I should study up and take the SAT II in May or if I should just study before the placement test at CTOPS and hope to get into a 200 level class.

"Don't worry about it too much. Drop-Add is where it's at, anyway."

When will we be able to drop-add? Throughout the entire summer, or just a week or two before classes?

Also, do we have to register for an English class during CTOPS for the fall semester or can we just do that later for the spring semester?

To hahathatsfunny, here's the table. As for whether to take the SAT II, it really just depends on how good you think you are at French, and what class you want to be placed into. If you really want to get into a high level off the bat, you should go ahead and take the SAT.

Every year the freshmen coming in panic about the registration. The goal is to get SOMETHING on your schedule. If you want take a late ctops group so you might have your scores in.....

Drop add is anywhere you are and your laptop is and it starts a week or so before classes.....persistence is the key and you can get what you want usually.

I would check the AP scores required for exemption and knowing that do not sign up for classes you know you will exempt. SOME people hve AP from Soph and Jr. years too.

Register for an extra class you can can register for up to 17 hours.

Remember Balance....dont' be macho and try to impress everyone with your schedule. You have to live with the grades.

Consider/highly recommended to take freshman seminars. Some count towards major credit some don't.

i would review before your ctops session...otherwise, relax. You can adjust your schedule before or after classes start. A lot of movement happens.

Last day to add a course is Aug 25, 2008. Last day to drop online is Sept 2. Last to drop in person is Oct 13.
