amazon.com

My favorite aggregator is bigwords.com, as long as you turn off the “rental textbook” option (had a BAD experience with chegg.com, don’t recommend them to anyone).

I think I am a little paranoid, but is there a chance that if I go to the bookstore on campus for math or chem that textbooks could run out? When my older brother was in college he got screwed because they ran out of chemistry textbooks so he missed a couple of assignments in the beginning of the school.

ComeGetUsed.com is a great resource. It’s basically a textbook marketplace for the Berkeley campus. So you can just find whatever you need, meet with the seller in person, check out the quality of the book, and make the deal. Quick and easy. Site’s been down though, but it says it’ll be up soon. Hopefully it will be, cuz there was a good user base there in the past.

I also use allbookstores.com quite often. It compares prices among different resellers. It’s great for getting international versions of texts for way cheaper. But watch out when buying international texts online. Most of the you’ll have a smooth transaction and the book will be in perfect condition. But I’ve experienced a few bad dealers, who take weeks to ship the book and give you a book of subpar quality.

And bookstores may run out of textbooks for a class at times, but I’ve only had it happen once for me and it wasn’t that big of a problem. I just used it at the library or borrowed from a friend taking the same class.

I love BIGWORDS.com. It compares prices at online bookstores for you.
